NZ U-20 tour of Chile

Wed July 2nd 2025

Leighton has recently returned from Chile with the New Zealand U-20 team as part of their preparations for the upcoming U-20 World Cup. The team faced Chile in two competitive matches, falling 3-1 in a closely contested first game held behind closed doors. Despite a solid team performance in the second match, they were narrowly defeated 2-1 by the hosts. This international experience has been invaluable and will serve the team well as they head into the World Cup at the end of September, where they will face Chile once again in the tournament's opening fixture.
