Men’s Olympic Football v Romania

The men’s Olympic football team made history last night by reaching the quarter-finals for the first time, drawing 0-0 with Romania.

The team dominated possession throughout the contest and were unlucky not to score. The team finished second in their group, becoming the first men's side to qualify for a quarter-final at a World Cup or Olympics.

Roland said “The team is really proud of the performance and is looking forward to the quarter final”. They will play Japan in the quarter-final at 9pm (NZ) on Saturday 31 July 2021.
