Wed June 18th 2025

Roland and the All Whites have returned from Canada after finishing second in the inaugural Canadian Shield tournament held in Toronto. A standout performance saw the All Whites defeat the reigning African champions, Cote d’Ivoire 1-0, with Elijah Just netting the winner and a disciplined defensive effort securing the result. In the second fixture the All whites went down 2-1 to world No. 25, Ukraine. Despite the narrow scoreline, the All Whites impressed with a confident and composed display to close out the tournament. This is a promising step forward as the squad continues preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Credit: PhotosportNZ
