Riagan Loomes

Physiotherapist

BHSc(Physio)

Riagan completed his Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 2022. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, he spent over eight years working across the health and fitness industry in roles including personal training, fitness instruction, and gym supervision. This extensive background gives him a practical, real-world understanding of how people train, move, and load their bodies both inside and outside the gym.

His treatment style is approachable, collaborative, and performance-based. He combines manual therapy with targeted exercise prescription and education to help clients understand their bodies and take ownership of their recovery. The goal is simple: to build people up so they can do the things they enjoy — or return to doing them better than before.

Riagan has a strong interest in gym-based rehabilitation and comes from a powerlifting background. He enjoys working with the general population, particularly those looking to improve their health, build strength as they age, or navigate changes such as reduced bone strength, muscle loss, or menopause-related concerns. His approach focuses on helping people feel stronger, more confident, and more capable in their bodies, using training tailored to their current abilities while encouraging long-term progress.
