FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup

Emily has returned from the first ever FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup with the Futsal Ferns, and what an incredible journey it has been! It was both an honour and a privilege for Emily to be part of such a historic moment for New Zealand Futsal.

The Futsal Ferns battled right to the end, taking on some of the world’s top teams, including world No. 5 Japan and No. 3 Portugal, and faced a challenging match against Tanzania. Despite the match ending in a loss to Tanzania, the Futsal Ferns celebrated a historic milestone, scoring their first two goals ever a Futsal World Cup.

Emily has been working with the team since it was first established in 2017, and seeing their growth and determination on the world stage was a truly special experience.
